In 1987 they began spending their winters in Sarasota. After the war they moved to Dearborn, MI, and later to Huron, OH, where they lived until Roy died in 2001. Roy served in the Army during WWII and Opal aided in the war effort by working at Wright's Manufacturing as a supervisor. They married in 1939 and began a beautiful life together. It was in Cincinnati where she met the love of her life, Roy Cummings. Soon after, Opal's family moved to Knoxville where she spent her early childhood years, later moving to Cincinnati, OH, where she spent the majority of her childhood and her young adult life. Opal was born Mato Andrew and Edna Waters of Walland, TN. Sarasota - Opal Cummings of Sarasota, FL, passed away in Sarasota Memorial Hospital on August 21, 2021, at the age of 104.
